Whitecross Studio

This branding is the new identity for Battery Park Life Science Campus, to market for let furnished laboratories and research space.The design is based around the field of Life science - the scientific study of living organisms. 

During my research I discovered that the circle was a reoccurring theme within Life science, from the cells that make up living organisms, the rings inside a tree to show its age, the layers that make up the planet to the way planets in our solar system orbit the sun. 

The imagery associated with the sector is very obvious and soon becomes repetitive with laboratories and white coats dominating the field. To avoid the over use of these images, the design uses icon based imagery that incorporates the circle logo icon. This helps to create a strong brand image and reinforces the messages in the various marketing materials. 

The main colour comes from the circular logo icon, either alone or accompanied with the branded icons always appears on a dark grey. This creates a bold brand visual with the logo being the first thing the reader always sees.
